Hello all,

I am still trying to find the missing wiring for my HDC switch. I cannot see it inside the area above the transmission tunnel, and I am now wondering whether I can start at the HDC "Black Box" and work my way back from there.

Can someone tell me where this black box is and if there is any way of identifying which is the wire for the HDC switch when looking at the black box?

Cheers

my 2000 L series i think the HDC runs off the Black box on my car under the drivers seat is also the ABS box

could be wrong tho

The HDC (Black Box) is intigrated into the ABS ECU which is mounted to the ABS modulator it's self. This assembly is fitted on the right hand side inner wing. All the wiring from there goes to various other ECUs, power supply sources and gear lever, brake and clutch switches.

OP has a 1999 model Nodge, according to Haynes the ABS ECU is under the drivers seat - after 2001 they are fitted in the engine bay ;)

Purple/green wire from ABS ECU to gear lever HDC switch (mine is mostly purple with a very faint stripe of another colour - hard to tell if its green or not this time of night.

Green Wire from Header Joint K109 to gear lever HDC switch - see post 2 in the link for where this is.

hopefully the wires are laying nearby underneath the carpet somewhere though :)

So, I have found the purple and green wires. They emerge from under the carpet in the space under the hand-brake gaitor. BUT: The green one has been cut off, while the purple one disappears off under the carpet again on the passenger seat side. Why on earth would it be heading over in that direction? I would have expected both to be cut off.

Sorry my mistake, I refered you to the wrong header - its header K109 (289) not sure where this is though
