    HD rear bumper recommendation

Surely the argument for doesn't give a decent recovery point would apply to the front aswell and winch bumpers as they are only held on with 4 bolts?

    Full bushes replacement..

We got the bushes out of our 90 using a hole saw to cut the rubber and inner metal sleeve out and then hacksawed through the outer metal sleeve and knocked it out with chisel and hammer. Then polybushes were easily put in with some copper grease and a vice.

    300 TDI rear hub

http://www.landyzone.co.uk/lz/attachments/f8/15224d1271927389-discovery-300tdi-rear-wheel-bearing-hubs.jpg Shows the exploded diagram of the assembly. The bearings have two races which are pressed into the hub. Can be done without a proper press though, I used an old screwdriver to knock the...

    Hot running problems

Still more problems :( Changed the leads to the ones that were originally on it and I think the sometimes not starting problem seems to have gone, haven't used it much this weekend so don't totally know yet. But when in park it will happily rev up whilst on petrol but as soon as I try and...

    Earth strap, quick location question

Thanks vougese39. Had a look earlier more closely and thought it went there so that's now back on.

to auto or not to auto? that is the question

Auto's are better for traffic and general around town, and also apparently better offroad. Although they are not so good pulling away with the diesels, the V8 is a lot better. One thing that does annoy me is you have to go just over 50mph to get it to change into 4th and when following people...

    Earth strap, quick location question

Just a quick question, the big earth strap from the N/S of the engine goes to where on the chassis? Mine isn't connected  I can see it's clipped up next to a PAS pipe and then ends near where the jack would normally go, somewhere around there I would assume? This is on a D1 aswell.

    Hot running problems

It's been running fine on gas so don't think that has any problems. Think its got something to do with the ignition side of things now, changed the leads to ones that were on it before and it ran better. First I'll get an OEM dizzy cap and see how things go from there.

    Hot running problems

Bit of an update with this, changed the MAF and it runs okay now. Except for sometimes it won't start when cold, until I take No1 plug out and place it on top of the rocker cover to see if there's a spark and it will pretty much fire straight up. I know the dizzy cap isn't genuine, am trying...

    Sluggish disco.........not any more!

Only way you can get more go from the EDC 300 after de-egr/decat etc is with an intercooler and chip. I spent countless minutes searching for options that weren't so expensive but no such hope!

    Disco 1 which coil springs

Cheers for the replies, think I'll go for bearmach ones, seem to be well rated. Not massively expensive either. I just kept the bushes that came with the procomp dampers, hopefully they won't snap aswell

    Disco 1 which coil springs

Looking to get some new springs in the future but not quite sure which ones to go for, there is quite a selection. Noticed it sits a good inch or more lower than my 300tdi did so could do with some new ones  Already got some pro-comp dampers on the back and will probably be getting...

    Hot running problems

Yep that's true, although the things I've so far replaced needed replacing anyway. I now think its got something to do with the lpg system, ran it only on petrol today and it was fine, started perfectly after it was hot. I've done some googling and found someone who had a similar problem with...

    Hot running problems

I'll give the pins a clean with some tiny fine files I've got. I've found today that when I start from warm if I press the throttle straight away it will rev properly and then switch to gas but if I leave it then it won't run and the idle hunts around a fair bit. Also, if normally I switch...

    Hot running problems

Thanks for the warning, earlier I twisted the afm pins slightly and put the plug back on and after leaving the battery unplugged for a while it seemed alot better. Pulled like it should when driving, before it seemed fairly sluggish. So I'm wondering whether they were just bad connections. Shall...
