I was checking my rear half shafts at the weekend, and when re-tightning one of the rear flange bolts onto the hub, the bolt sheared about half way down, so now it's only held on with 4 bolts, the remains of the old bolt being stuck in the hub :doh:

I'm going to tackle the rear wheel bearings in coming weeks anyway, but my question was going to be, are the rear wheel bearings part of the hub assy, or are they separate press in bearings?

I know the moment I give it some abuse off road, the rear flange will probably give now

The bearings have two races which are pressed into the hub. Can be done without a proper press though, I used an old screwdriver to knock the old ones out and then used the old ones to put the new ones in making sure I didn't damage them as I went.

seperate brgs rtc3429 dont use kit use timken ,bolt is 10mm and is fairly hard non std 10.9,hub is same as front or def or rrc 300tdi ftc942 £50 new
