The reason I looked into it is because a friend of mine who owns/runs a test station has advised me the he will have to buy some sort of kit via the Ministry for testing ecu's, personally I can't see how but it would not suprise me. Looks like I may have to buy a cat....................possibly;)

I suppose it could as it will be runnung all the time and won't do your fuel consumption a lot of good. Simple test, can you rotate the fan with the ENGINE OFF ?

Call Customer Care even if they tell you to do one what have you got to loose? I would highlight that you the original owner, full LR Service history and that you would not expect this kind of catastrophic failure in five years time at 150,000 but certainly not now. Worth a try! Chris

Hi, I doubt the easy start would cause such a problem, that said if it's a 3.9 you'll have an electric pump so applying easy start is not going to make a difference to the fuel delivery! Your misfire could be down to many things and without seeing the car it's difficult to get to the bottom of...
