    New MOT and performance chips!!

The reason I looked into it is because a friend of mine who owns/runs a test station has advised me the he will have to buy some sort of kit via the Ministry for testing ecu's, personally I can't see how but it would not suprise me. Looks like I may have to buy a cat....................possibly;)

    New MOT and performance chips!!

It appears that the new MOT starting now and being phased in upto April may well include a check for non OEM performance add on boxes/ chips!!! If a vehicle should be fitted with a cat and is removed it will fail! As well as ABS light, SRS,ESP and brake fluid warning and many more! New MOT...

    confused with viscous fan

I suppose it could as it will be runnung all the time and won't do your fuel consumption a lot of good. Simple test, can you rotate the fan with the ENGINE OFF ?

    range rover sport gone bang

Same here, I worked as a technical service advisor for a BMW dealership and we often approached BMW for a goodwill claim on behalf of the customer and if they didn't cover the whole bill they'd quite often stump up a percentage, main things to remember:- 1, DON'T go into the dealership all guns...

    range rover sport gone bang

Call Customer Care even if they tell you to do one what have you got to loose? I would highlight that you the original owner, full LR Service history and that you would not expect this kind of catastrophic failure in five years time at 150,000 but certainly not now. Worth a try! Chris

    TD5 fuel filter housing

I need a new fuel filter housing as mine is leaking. Found a new one on ebay ESR 4723, been on Microcat and the part number listed is WJN 000030, do these cross reference in any way or are they different parts. Mines a 2002 MY TD5 Discovery with EU3, this housing is a good price but don't want...

3.9 injection v8 disco running missfire

The diagnostic thingy probably won't tell you anything but still worth a try. My money goes on HT breakdown. Possibly, Rotor arm Distributor cap althought I think you said that it had been replaced. HT leads or ignition coil, but it's going to be trial and error I'm affraid. Do you know anyone...

3.9 injection v8 disco running missfire

Hi, I doubt the easy start would cause such a problem, that said if it's a 3.9 you'll have an electric pump so applying easy start is not going to make a difference to the fuel delivery! Your misfire could be down to many things and without seeing the car it's difficult to get to the bottom of...

    TD5 fuel filter housing leak

I've had a bit of a scout around but thought I'd ask direct before I start stripping it down. When left over night my Td5 is a bitch to start, it air in the fuel line because if left in purge for a few mins it starts ok and for the rest of the day it starts first turn. So had a poke about and...

    Battery advice required

1, What ever you do, DO NOT disconnect the battery whilst the engine is running! 2, Like many thing in life, you get what you pay for but moreso with batteries, get a cheap one off eblag and it will let you down, I'd go for a Halfords Calcium or a Bosch and if the budget won't stretch that far...
