There is a place in ely that does landy repairs also sells parts and off road gear in shop at side of workshop....never used him for repairs just the odd part from time to time All four wheels

Just to let you know that the 2 litre bottles of castrol are on offer at £6.00 and some of tesco own brand oils are down to £2.50 for 2 litres ideal if your planning an oil change,that's in my local store anyway just got 8 litres for a tenner :)

I did my gearbox oil couple of weeks ago,diffs and engine oil next on the agenda,its a good thing to do when you get a new to you motor,you never know when the last owner had them done or even if correct oils were used.just make sure you can undo the filler plugs before you drain anything ;)

No probs ,there's a step by step in busters guide with pics for removing heater box.

Just give at a go you should be able to get some paint knocked up at halfords they do a colour match service,or to keep it cheaper just go a nice gloss black ,I used black plasticote on my 90 and the finish is quite good.

I removed mine and by passed the matrix with a rubber hose so I could still run the landy,that gave me the chance to drill out the rivets and replace matrix and give it a coat of paint ,wouldn't like to try it while still attached to bulk head,not sure if you would have enough room to be honest.

As long as you rub it down well and prep it ,like you say its the roof and out the way so not in full vision,what colour is it looks black in pic ?

I would rub it down and get some rattle cans and spray it ma self , Would look much better than it does now and wouldn't cost a silly amount Masking tape/newspaper Wet and dry Primer Top coat And a nice day :)

Yeah am aware of having it in reverse ,was going to do it this morning while I was changing gearbox oil but then realised it was different, will after be this weekend now as back to work tomorrow

So bought new reverse light switch for a few quid from paddocks , didn't realise there was 2 different types ,trust me to get the wrong one I needed prc8204 and the price of these are soooo expensive...

Changed gear box oil today in the defender, also replaced the gearbox filter and both washers on drain plugs, topped up with atf using my trusty old garden sprayer with length of tube makes things a lot easier and less mess :)

Had a box of goodies turn up from paddocks including service kit and new reverse light switch and gear box filter :) just need some ATF now so a can get the jobs done over easter break .

Tried again and failed to remove my steering wheel, looks like a need to invest in a puller :(
