    cheap tyres look here

Nothing wrong with some budget tyres at all. When I got my P38 it has Nexen Roadian tyres on and they have been great for road use. Not terrible in the snow either. When they are done, I'll buy a set myself and for £300 fitted, that's OK for me. Mileage on them is about 27k - 30k I think.

dmf-p38 dse where to buy cheap??

It's a well know symptom that the DMF has failed. I remember vividly when mine started. I went on a 3 hour drive and when I arrived, the tickover was wierd, thought nothing of it as it went away at the time. Mine slowly got worse over 6 months, and the hotter the engine became (hotter...

dmf-p38 dse where to buy cheap??

My car had the strange vibration at idle when the engine was warm, tickover all over the place and a blip of the throttle would fix it. An almost nailed on cert that the DMF is worn and needs replacing. A new one fitted by me fixed it, lovely again, and much nicer drive too. This was the...

    Warning messages

Air bag connectors under both front seats are yellow. Disconnect them and push back together, might just be that simple. Book symbol could be all sorts, need more info.

    Running boards/side steps

I have 3 kids and they would have no chance without them, they make a huge difference, no question. I'm six foot, but always put one foot on the step to get in.

    servicing

Leaving a door open will stop the eas from dropping/levelling, so a must if you're under it. Water/fairy liquid works perfect for detecting leaks, spray on all connectors and air bags (set to high) then you will see if you need to replace any bags or orings. The valve block can be overhauled...

    Coolant loss - DSE

Parts: Range Rover P38 Heater Core Temperature Sensor £18.99 O-rings STC 3262 x 2 £2.49 I've decided to replace the heater core temp sensor as recommended by the guide above as my book symbol appears for no apparent reason, so it may fix that too with a bit of luck.

    Coolant loss - DSE

Well when I said matrix, I obviously meant that's the area I needed to repair. I recently replaced the pipes on my oil cooler and they have o-rings at both ends. So I guess it will be a simliar carry on at the matrix end. Thanks for the replies, I will check it out and look into doing it...

    Coolant loss - DSE

Car runs fine and temp is always in the same place when at running temp, never seen it different, but I'll keep an eye on that. ....Just been outside and there is a dark area on the carpet to the left side of the clutch pedal. I put my hand up behind some plastic and managed to grab a few...

    Coolant loss - DSE

What o-rings? Something to do with the heater matrix? I'm fairly certain the head is not leaking, it just does'nt seem to fit any other symptoms I'd expect to see. It's been doing it for at least 6 months now and is not getting worse. Just a very slow loss of coolant, say 250ml per 1000+...

    Coolant loss - DSE

2001 - 81k miles DSE well serviced. I've noticed that the coolant level will drop in the expansion tank below the cold mark by about 2" and seems to stay there. I top it back up with coolant and it will slowly drop over about 1000 miles or so. There is no contamination in the engine oil...

    Second time start!?

Are the HT leads all good too? Or coil pack if it has one.
  18. R

    Lights out!

Yeah it's easy peasy. I have always messed with it during the day and hence not found out what it did. Had the car almost 2 years too! Crazy.

    Second time start!?

Put the old spark plugs in to see if it's any better. The new plugs are all correct? Check them if unsure. One could be wrong or damaged!

    book symbol

Hmmm, thanks for that. I think I'll leave it and if it ever causes a problem, then do somethig about it.
