Unable to unlock doors manually L322

Is the L322 the same as the P38 inside the door? I have the same problem with one of the P38s. It is the rod come off. Main dealer says it's a new handle needed however local specialist can supply a lug for £2.

    Wobb-b--b-b-b--ble

Have already spoken to them and are keen to get it in. Its always fine to have a look first though rather than find out it's a non warrantable item that I could do myself rather than pay someone else to do it while it's there. The way it's driving it'll need recovered though - not keen to drive...

    Td4 Brakes . Help !!!

As what's been said, needs a strip down. My recent experience was just the same, brakes worked but were binding on especially if the handbrake had been used, even momentarily at a junction. It was the pivot on the handbrake arm at the bottom of the inside of the drum that was seized on both...

    P38 Paranoid alarm

Don't leave the battery off too long, you'll end up having to recode everything - and maybe "engine disabled".

Had a look under. Everything is attached and on rotating the front prop there is a bit of lash, probably about 2mm. Would that just be taking up slack or should it be firm? The UJs aren't clicking at all so hopefully nothing should fall off! May need to admit defeat and take to local specialist...

Wheel wobble - steering still there

That does look like an out of shape tyre or them not set properly on the rim. Look carefully around the wheel rim and on the tyre there is what is called a fitting line. The distance between it and the actual rim should be the same around the entire circumference. It can go on squint and even...

Wheel wobble - steering still there

The two tyres I have had go out of shape were Goodyear albeit it was a few years ago. Looking at them face on so to speak the tread was kind of S shaped at one point.

    Aircon fan belt missing

Fit a belt, make sure there is gas and try it. Nothing to lose.

Can you turn the middle bit? Even just a little to check it's not seized.

Wheel wobble - steering still there

Out of shape tyre. Can happen if the fitter is a bit coarse and breaks a cord or two when popping it on. Even tough it's balanced that's not under a load and if there is a weakness in a side wall it will give you a 'square wheel' effect when it gives every revolution. I've had this twice before...

    Battery Charging TD4

If the battery is dead flat you'd be as well taking it off and charging it as it could be on for some time. I'm personally not a fan of charging on the car unless it's a slow trickle - max 1 Amp - otherwise you could overload delicate electrics. Normally you don't lose settings on a Freelander...

    Lights out!

Switch sidelights on and push the little switch to the right and the lights will slowly gain brightness, to the left and they dim.

Maybe the belt snapped and fell off. Are the pulleys shiny where it would have been?

Try the little rocker switch on top of the left stalk. Sometimes they can lose setting.

Weird Alternator Problem - help please

A bit rudimentary and you say you have cleaned it but a squirt of switch cleaner and a gentle blast from an air line could dislodge something you've missed. A contaminated belt can sound rough as well. Does it make a noise with the belt off and you turn it by hand?

    3 Amigos /Electrical Problem

You can see the front reluctor rings through a square hole on the hub (from underneath). Back ones are a bit ore tricky to see. Carefully stick a flat screwdriver through and try to turn it. If it moves without the shaft turning its probably broken. Could just be a bit dirt trapped though.

Don't think its the viscous unit as it does it in a straight line too at 10mph. The steering damper did cross my mind too. Will give that a go as well. Better look out the waterproof mat!

    3 Amigos /Electrical Problem

Normally when a wheel sensor goes you will get the three lights. My experience is that the red light will come on too if the fluid sensor thing is damaged (as I had a year ago). I replaced it and was left with the three lights, changed a duff sensor and they all went out. After a short while...

The title describes the symptoms! The last few weeks the roads have been in crap state up here with hard packed ice/ snow etc so keeping the speed down has been paramount (and noticing any vibration impossible). Car was off the road for about ten days up to Christmas until the warranty co...
