The optimate are waterproof, but I do keep it off the ground as a common sense precaution. Worth looking into if it is possible on your car/drive, keeps the battery ready at all times

Take the engine viscous fan off for the winter, helps warm up a bit. Done mine, no problems with engine temp even tugging two horses uphill in 2nd/3rd gear.........

Ours "forgets" the remote function on a regular basis, but resets itself if we manually unlock the car, it then works OK for a day or so!!!
