    Tyres,.......no war

Crikey! That's some pricey tyres you chaps have. I've been cringing at the thought of £105 each for BFG ATs on the VW.....

    Tyres,.......no war

Said it before & I'll say it again "you can't go wrong with Marshall / Kumho KL78s" or powerguard or roadventure or whatever fancy name they've given them this week. 20000km on them in the Syncro in all weathers on all surfaces including last years 2 foot of snow... Ran Maxxis on the Disco &...

    hi guys newbie needs help

There's a leak somewhere, it's not holding pressure by the sound of it so a new cap would be a good place to start, and probably the cheapest option first off.. I'd be tempted to drain, flush refill and fit a new cap then watch it very carefully for a few weeks. Can't be any more specific I'm...

    Tyres,.......no war

Original wheel/tyre fitment was either 195/80/15 or 215/65/16 (or it was for my 2001 model). 15" wheels were 5.5J and 16" were 6J 205/80/15 would increase your overall diameter by about 5cm and your rolling radius by about 15cm. Sorry I've no idea if they'll fit and your speedo will be way...

    Fuel consumption Poll

Just done our first calculation after a month of Laura driving the Td4 everyday for work. Mixed useage, some town and stop - start and some motorway miles. Came back at 38 MPG so pretty pleased with that. Much better than the Golf GTi we replaced with it.

New Member - will I fit in?

    hi guys newbie needs help

Have a read of the common faults page for a start. loads of info about leaks , gaskets & 1.8 problems in general.

New member in Cornwall, I need help urgently!!!

Sorry to read about your problems. I personally haven't had a disco with sunroofs that didn't leak (although some don't). Silicone was my solution, you cant open it but it stopped the water. Have a look at this thread As for fuel consumption are you just going by the gauge or have you filled...

Tailgate window problem with change of battery

:D GO HERE for the handbook. Enter your model year and click Owners info or something like that. It's in 3 or 4 parts but it will tell you what to do to sort it out

Tailgate window problem with change of battery

Been done to death - it's all in the manual and elsewhere on here - no time to point you to the inks at the moment but will do later if no one else does. It's easy enough to find though.........

FL2 with new tyres then MPG goes thru the floor

If your tyres were very worn down you can easily have a diference of around 2% in the overall rolling radius compared to new, which would - in my understanding anyway - easily give a falsely high MPG figure; the odometer thinking it's gone further than it really has. Larger rolling radius =...

    Actual speed/distance covered

Original tyre options were 195/80 R15 or 215/65 R16 which have a rolling radius of 215.20cm & 215.48 cm respectively so are as near as dammit the same size..... As far as makes sense the speedo would be callibrated the same for the two sizes to save costs on needing to produce/source 2 seperate...

    What are your thoughts....?

Nokians are good. Can't speak for that specific Marangoni but we bough a pair of their road tyres for the Golf about 6 months ago. They were cheap enough and lasted well up to when we sold it. They used to have an "accidental damage" warranty on them too. Not sure about the Pirelli connection...

First stop here for a handbook, it might help solve it, or at least tell you what should be fitted in your car

    Silicone hoses

Straight from the horses' mouth - so to speak.... I'll be replacing mine very shortly and it's good to follow what someone has already done - cheers again Singvogel

I agree with Singvogel - sounds a bit modified. Have you checked the owners' manual?
