    Electrical loss

That’s good news. Let’s hope it stays away. Every time I repair a P38, I let rip with a can of Penetrating oil (WD40) on all the connections and wiring loom. It works a treat and can prevent future problems. Wire rotting and green terminals ect. The fuse box and the back of the light clusters...

    indicators stopped working

Hi, Fuse 1 (15 Amp) is for the Indicators and Fuse 4 (30 Amp) is for the hazards. It’s got to have blown fuse 1. Fuse 1 is the top one on the left hand vertical row of fuses, they are numbered going down the column Check if you have voltage to fuse 1 Let me know how you get on

    Electrical loss

Hi, Check the 4 main cables on the fuse box side of the Becm under the drivers seat. The 3 to the right should be carrying battery volts with the ignition off. The black one to the left should be 0 volts and 0 resistence to ground. Check the end of this Earth cable where it bolts to the floor...

Wouldnt pull a greasy man out of bed

The only way forward then, is to check coding and if no different do a compression test. It is the only sure way of ruling out the seals

Wouldnt pull a greasy man out of bed

That sounds spot on with the injector coding, there is possibly another problem there and changing the injector seals has just compounded the fault. You definitely need to have the coding checked and if there is no difference do an engine compression test from the glow plug ports. Easiest way...

    Fuel Injection Syetem.

While he is at the motor factors he could also get a box of blue engine sparks to go with the plugs, leads and rotor arm. lol

    Transfer neutral error

Hi Irishrover, hows things. One quick way to test if you have a becm that is not coded for Electric seats (Seat Outstations). ie a low line Becm is the "fuse 10 failure" warning on the dash.

    TD5 loss of power

A fuel prssure gauge can be put in the fuel line or it can be read with most good diagnostic tools. Is there still oil in the loom. It costs about £20 to replace it.

Thats a good point. Youve spoilt the guessing game know though. lol

    TD5 loss of power

Fuel pump failure doesn’t really ring true with that kind of fault. If it starts with easy start then the lift pump is working as the injectors need a supply of fuel. There is no main pump like a conventional set up so there is no suction to pull fuel from the tank. It needs the lift pump to...

    traction control

Hi, the brake pedal switch is always a favorite for that fault. The brake lights still work as it is 2 switches in one. The ABS/Traction side of the switch fails. It’s a cheap fix.

    TD5 loss of power

Hi, a few things spring to mind with that fault. Check for oil in the injector wiring loom, pull the plug at the front of the rocker cover. If there are signs of oil pull the 2 plugs off the Engine ECU and see if the oil has made it that far. It could also be the Airflow meter or EGR valve...

    Transfer neutral error

Hi, it sounds like you may have fuse 11 fiited in the Becm fuse box. Look for a fuse in the top right hand corner of the fuse box and take it out. When a fuse is fitted it locks the tranfer box in neutral for towing and puts the message on the instrument cluster.
