looking to do the mod to mine as brakes quite frankly are poop, they were still poop after new discs and pads last year so decided to upgrade abit.

what exactly do i need, 110 front calipers (obv) but do i need solid or vented ones?
do i upgrade disks to suit, ie vented to fit vented solid to fit solid?

also do you upgrade the rears aswell since they dont do much braking, and if so do the pads wear out like the Standard D1's do?

also im assuming i can still do this even though i dont have ABS and only have the 1 brake pipe going to each caliper.

There is maybe still a problem with your brakes.

Unless you are hoping to stop on the spot, then i would suggest learning forward planning and driving properly. My 300tdi was, shall we say a bit poor when i got it. The engine brake was better than foot and the hand brake was what i used to stop. After new discs and pads all round it can now catapult a passenger refusing to wear a seat belt, in to the window screen hard enough that they are never stupid again.
 
Only worth it for day in day out heavy towing, if they are not great then there is a problem as my 200Tdi is capable of locking up the back axle under heavy braking when empty.
 
mine will lock the rears up easily but still feel they could be better, its had new master and slave in past from me and yes its bled up properly, and my driving style is alot better than most so planning to brake isnt an issue, i just like to feel better.
