hi, my td5 is doing the same. screech/whistle while revving. ive noticed some carbon leaking from the exhaust manifold
when i take the engine cover off it becomes apparent. hard to pinpoint when your heads under the bonnet.
i thought it was maybe a pulley or belt to start with but all seem to point to the manifold

it too have a screech at top end of the turbo boost?
only mention it as i drove past a m8 today and he said it souned like it was letting by...
i've just replaced an intercooler pipe as this had perished + performance was lousy, de-EGR'd + fitted a terrafirma de-cat and center box replacement. While the performance increase is awsome, as is the throaty roar, i can really hear my turbo whistle too but going up through the gears, at top end of each gear i can hear a banshee wail that doesnt sound right (as i said, this is at top end of turbo whistle)
she's also drinking like a thirsty, thirsty thing.....
i put the exhaust manifold to engine on with an impact wrench, using a new gasket so its not leaking here, and i changed the jubilee clip on the turbo / pipe union so i know this is secure.
should i be worried + start checking the manifold?!
