when you replace a front wheel bearing on a defender do they come off with the hub or do they weld themselves to the stub axle?and if they do this do you need a new stub axle?
Depends how ****ed they are.
Also td5 have spacers of different sizes
DA2381G is the one for tratters with discs on the rear axle
Might come off ok with judicious use of heat and hammer....... but I had one that was literally welded (with not a squeek of warning) so that was defo a new stub axle..... fingers crossed for yours. A
Some times you can get away with using an angle grinder with thin cutting disc and cutting most of the way through the inner race with bearing removed and then using a sharp chisel and hammer to split it but make sure you don't damage the stub axle hitting it![]()
I did mine in a car park with basic hand tools using the old race as a drift![]()
5mm? I cut a slot with a 1mm disk![]()
