.... to patch a cracked engine sump??? being a bit o a fud i dropped a perkins 4203 on its sump, it probably only fell 20mm but its cracked the sump and bled all over me garage floor...... :eek:

wasnt a good day yesterday as one of them ****y screw jacks snapped on my pinky and for a moment i thought i might have the weight of a car sitting on me wee finger!! luckily it were just the spring loaded foot had came up on it!! bleedin eejut!

The best way is to weld it. The cheapest way is to clean and rough up the surrounding area and then stick some quick steel over it.
 
If it's steel it should be a simple job to bash it back into shape and run a mig over the cracks..
 
cheers, i'll go practice me weldering then!! and then me rigging and lifting techneques!!
