Would a polish help darken the colour a bit?

dont kno about darken, it will deepen a colour, usualy reds and blues, why would i want to darken it anyways ? the shade it has dropped is un noticable untill its next to a newly sprayed part, still looks as new as day 1 :)

Hello there,
did read your story about your restoration and saw your simple puller to pull of the cam gear. I like to make the same puller, but don't know which bolts to us. Can you tell me which bolts/size you used?

Thanks Eelco

Fantastic work - the restoration obviously, but also for sharing your progress! It's a real help for me as a complete novice to see how everything fits together.

Well, still having problems stopping it, so it's back in the workshop and as a last resort I'm fitting a servo and pedal box from a series 3 , least it will behave it's self in modern driving conditions , some pics to follow , drivers wings off, pedals out, new pedal painted and refurbished, servo mounted to box, manifold removed and drilled and and tapped for vac pipe , just wait in for a free afternoon to put it all back together then am back on the road

You actually managed to find a proper series 3 pedal box! Couldnt find one for mine for love nor money, had to modify a defender one in the end

Nah, no rush stu , just plodding like usual , works been busy so makin the most of it at the mo , tractors doin more miles than me Landys of late, nice weather's slowin work down too, am meltin

Wow what a great thread. I wish I had the time, patience, skills, money and work space to do all this.

Now I think about it. I'm bloody lucky I've got one at all. ;)
