can you turn the webasto unit off cause when I've been driving and come to a stop the smoke comes out from under the bonnet is this normal ?

Sounds like a no. Find the fuse and pull it for now.

What D number do you have cos I know nothing, but others will if you give more info.

Get it on some diagnostics might help if you think it’s not right, but as I said more info needed for accurate help.

When it is cold they can run all the time the engine is running in an attempt to keep the engine at the correct operating temperature.
You can unplug the can wires to stop the unit running, have a google or see the d3forum.

When was the FBH last serviced? They're supposed to be cleaned out occasionally or they soot up and smoke.
