Feel free to laugh and call me an old fool......

Hoses not arrived this am so emailed eBay seller who confirmed the tracking and offered to send replacement.
An hour later the postie delivered the hoses  Emailed the vendor with the news and aok, had not sent replacement yet.

Went to put them on, one would just fit if I cut an inch off but at a slightly funny angle, the second wouldn't fit ever as the shape was all wrong.

Onto Google and on further searching I realised that I had bought the hoses for a carb V8 whereas I need those for EFi.
Back to vendor who didn't have them but offered return and refund. Found the correct hoses after a bit more searching.

For future reference, I needed ETC6889 and 6890 for the EFi but I got ETC2278 and 2279:

Old fool 🤣
Easy done though.

Done!

The long hose - inlet manifold to heater pipe ETC8889- arrived yesterday and the shorty - water pump to heater pipe return ETC8890 - today whist I was fitting the first one. New stainless steel jubilee clips to secure them.

Took nearly 3 hours. No room to manoeuvre, had to remove top hose, distributor, leads, and alternator bracket to make enough room to squeeze the hoses on, washing up liquid made it easier but I have bloodied knuckles and hands now.

Refilled with coolant and pressure tested it to find no leaks and no drop in pressure after 5min. Started her up, ran to temperature and looking good.

BTW the chattering noise isn't from the water pump, in fact it wasn't noticeable today, but I do have an intermittently noisy tappet on the driver's side bank.
