The hill decent light on my D2 auto has come on and won't go out, has anyone any ideas as to what the problem may be?

I'm not so sure that's the problem as the hill decent is the only light on and I haven't had the 3 chimmes.

If your car is 2nd hand try if your ABS is really working! A piece of road without traffic, speed up and then make a full stop.Remove the loose things from the car in advance.

Abs is working.

That's good news. Without any testbook there is no chance to find the fault.

Are you sure that the light is for HDC and not the SLS light?

In either case you will need to get it connected to a diagnostic machine to identify the problem.

Have a look on the D2 Boys Club forum and see if anyone near you has a Hawkeye or Nanocom.

i'm affraid u'll need a new/faultless fusebox, cos the HD warning alone means a relay which is an unreplaceable part of it...see attached file, second line, that break lamps relay is defined HDC relay in the diagrams... i made investigations about it without much effect...read this if u want to know more http://www.landyzone.co.uk/lz/f8/diagrams-vs-reality-mystery-am-i-dumb-160328.html
