After a discussion with mr. Williamraff i made some digging and found a strange thing) . In the ABS system's diagnostic table there is a fault warning..second from the top
slabsfaults.png

then the description in RAVE says
1. ".... Operation HDC ....While the braking force is being applied, the SLABS ECU also energizes the brake lamp relay to put the brake lamps on...."

2. "HDC Brake lamp operation
When the hill descent control operates, the SLABS ECU pin C0506-12 provides a power supply on a BG wire to the coil of the hill descent relay in the
passenger compartment fusebox. The relay coil energises and the contacts"

close.
"
3. In diagnostics guidance is this: Hill descent controll brake : This shows the voltage being applied to the HDC Brake controll relay by the SLABS ECU

The diagram doesnt show any "brake lamp relay" instead it has the HDC relay(R222) in the pessenger compartment fusebox.... corroborating everything i'd say that they refer to the same relay here(as we see above " HDC Brake lamp operation"

as we know the passenger compartment fusebox has 4 relays :
R1 LH indicators
R2 RH indicators
R3 Rear window lift
R4 Ignition

Dog my cats if i understand what's going on here.... and where the hell is that relay.... is that a small electronic relay within the fusebox near the IDM or what?.... though as it looks on the diagram it's a normal coil/contact relay but it's connected to connectors C0586 and C0583 which are plugged in the passenger compartment fusebox:confused:

I believe that there are relays that are integral with the fuse box assembly.

I don't know if they're electronic relays or small contact relays soldered to the board.

I have an old fusebox that I'm intending to dismantle and experiment with, I guess that I'll find out then :D

.

I was thinking to the same thing too... though for such a very used and important relay it would be the worst scenario to replace or limb the whole fusebox to fix i a fault.
