Probably but I wouldn't know how as I haven't got one to look at nor do I have the wiring diagrams. Can this mod be made in my Disco 220?
It would be great.
thanks

you could drive for years and never need a fan at all , but oner day stuck in traffic, an electric fan is more likely not to work than a viscous ,its just a matter of risk reduction ,and for the cost why not if a viscous was a £1000 and not £50 i wouldnt refit one either, as said its quite possible that you may never need a fan at all

which disco 200 tdi disco 2 ?but either way wouldnt a new viscous be safer unless your going wading regularyLet me reformulate the question and not going OT: if I connect the fans of AC to dual thermostatic fan controller will be enough to dispense the viscous?
Here summer temperatures are high.
Thank you
PM me with an email address an I'll send you the mod I do on the P38, it ought to be easy enough to adapt it.Let me reformulate the question and not going OT: if I connect the fans of AC to dual thermostatic fan controller will be enough to dispense the viscous?

And where do you get a constant flow of cool air in a hot climate? If its that hot better a constant flow of cool air, Rather than relying on electric fans to come in and out.
Data don't forget the p38 has two extra cylinders and a crap cooling system i did remove my fan with me defender that has only four as its already emitting less heat and is happy to stay fanless most of the time in British weather only needing an electric fan if at stand still for long periods even tho I was happy with it as a test I would always adopt the fan fitted for safety sake as I did not notice much beneficial improvement .And where do you get a constant flow of cool air in a hot climate?

I ran my 4 cylinder Galloper/Pajero with the viscous fan removed, my comments applied equally to both those.Data don't forget the p38 has two extra cylinders and a crap cooling system i did remove my fan with me defender that has only four as its already emitting less heat and is happy to stay fanless most of the time in British weather only needing an electric fan if at stand still for long periods even tho I was happy with it as a test I would always adopt the fan fitted for safety sake as I did not notice much beneficial improvement .
As for the p38 I wouldn't even risk it myself .
You have it in abundance, the Op doesn't.Well its obviously cooler when a car is moving as the electric fans would engage while you drive , Which they don't unless your at stand still.
Where do you think air cooled is derived from!

Because nobody looks at the FAQ's and I don't know how to post images there either.Data..... Why don't you post your mod in the FAQ section for all to see?
The electric fans work fine on the diesel here in France even with the temperature in the high 30'sHi!
@mbm, don´t work here in Portugal, as a replacement viscous.
(You can use it like a SOS issue, but not like a replacement).
Even "dedicated" electric fan will not work.
The RR could be smoother, do more mpg, but .......
@datatek can you send the wiring? Thanks.

As you wish, but nobody seems to look at FAQ's so I will still end up emailing it out. It's no big chore, it doesn't come up that often. I also like to make sure that people are aware of the limitations as most seem not to read the instructions either, if they contact me direct I can give back up.I will do it for you if you wish. Put a copy in the FAQ section and one in the Rangie section, if yu send me the info.
