my 1987 v8 won,t start after rebuild had a auto mechanic out but no auto electricians near us got narrowed down to injectors not switching is there a relay or earth wire located any where that could be the problem
the big green monster as my wife has christen'd it. is a 1987 range rover 3.5 efi

Do you have an inertia switch to cut the fuel in the event of a crash? That is normally on the front bulkhead, passenger side, press the top down to reset.

There are other things as well, but that's the most obvious if you've been working in the engine bay.

Have you tested the injectors if so how? .... they are controlled by the ECU under the drivers seat where the two fuel injection relays and diode pack are also located and infront of the ECU.
The relays are 1. fuel pump 2. diode pack 3. main relay.

I the good old days I use to remove the fuel pump relay as security

The inertia switch is under the left seat.

thanks for the replys lads to answer i have fuel coming up to injectors and spark and timing right and power coming upto injector solinoids there just not switching apparently

The injectors will open on application of of 3 volts. The ECU looks after the switching and it's one bank or the other.
The sensors for the efi are coolent temp, air temp, thermotime switch and an extra air valve to look at also.

cheers mate ill check to see if there all connected properly and get back to you cause i was thinking of new injectors tomorro but ill check this first

Before going to the expense of new injectors look at the things that trigger the injection pulse. New injectors will be expensive, you may want to think about having the existing ones cleaned.

I'd have to say I'm not 100% on ther 3.5 flapper system but do a search you'll find lots of info. I would however start with checking the trigger signals; also, I believe the injectors work on a switched ground, so check the earthing in the injection loom.

I seem to recall ramon alban has posted lots about flapper injection, do a search I'm sure you'll find plenty of references.

Things that trigger the injection pulse.... I only know of one that's the L/T side of the coil.
I assume that this simple connection as been checked and eliminated.
