Hi all,
I have a 1996 disco 1 3.9 v8 done 69000 miles.
No problems with starting until today.
Went out greenlaning for about 5 hours.
Stopping periodically and turning off the car.
Every time started good a gold.
Then, after a normal stop, went to start the car and it only not turn over.
All the ignition lights came on as normal and, when I held the key in the starter position, I could hear the starter motor slowly whining into life. However not enough to even crank the car.
Had some other people with me and we tried connecting mine up to another battery - no difference.
Clicked the immobiliser a couple of times to see if that was an issue but no difference.
After about 15 minutes we were about to tow the car back to the main road and I gave it one last try - fired up straight away.
Was fine for the rest of the day.
Is this a warning of something about to die or has anyone encountered this problem before?
Any help much appreciated.
Chris
