please could someone help!! i have a 1996 Range Rover it has been in the Land Rover garage in Lorca in Spain for 9 months and today they finally tell me they dont know what the problem is!! the car stood still for 12 months so the battery was dead and it would not accept the code for the immobilizer I took it to the garage and they sent the brain off to be reset and they got it working but never informed me for another 6 weeks when i went to collect the car it didnt work anymore!!! it has been there for another 6 weeks and they still cant get it working!!! when you turn the key for the code it makes all the right beeps as though its accepting the code but then the alarm goes off at the end and it still does not start!!!!!! any help would be great!!!!!

it shouldnt beep.

now follow the guide on range rovers.net to the letter and then tell me what has happend again to the letter!

i'm trying to establish you are doing it correctly and that i understand wht you have done!!!

now pay attention to:

all windows and sunroof must be 'set'
no messages such as sunroof not set should appear when the switch is operated or bonnet open etc.

all doors should start locked on the first key turn of the sequence, any that dont lock automatically need to be done manually first.

if all dont lock then the drivers door lock is prolly to blame!

if it still doesnt work try taking drivers door card off, try code again, if no joy, remove drivers door locking mech, strip it down and fiddle with it till it works correctly and then clean multiplug connection and reassemble try again with code!

Could be that the BECM is in a locked or alarmed status. Land Rover Test Book is unable to unlock it. Needs Rovacom CPU module to read the status of the unit.

not looked at the map, can you see how far you are from ointinyent. let me know, i might be able to get you out of trouble.

If it works on piles..I'll have a bucketfull:behindsofa:
