New to commenting here, but I have been using the information here for about a year.

I bought a 2002 L322 a year ago. Many things need fixing and I am doing them bit by bit. The previous owner had a habit of doing makeshift fixes that fail over time and I am picking up the pieces of that approach.

The steering column had an issue with the motors and I took off the panel above the pedals to fix it. Hanging down there was an unused connector plug with multiple cables attached. It looks like the connectors that typically go into a computer module.

I tried to read some wiring diagrams but I was not able to understand them enough to find out if this connector is needed or not. Due to the attitude of the previous owner he might have disconnected the plug to solve a small problem, rather than fixing the real issue.

If anyone knows what this plug is for can you please tell me. I checked the computer module on the side wall near the bonnet release but it has two similar plugs connected to it and I did not see other connections there.

Not sure it'll be just for memory seats as such, more likely linking the memory seats, mirrors and steering column maybe so they can automatically adjust for each user/key/button preset.

Again, still learning how everything works, just basing what I say on best guess from how other cars work that I'm used to.

Curious, the electrical library pdf I had only listed 2 15 way connections on the car. Might have to check mine now 🤔
