Got one of those fancy removable tow bars to replace the standard tow bar so I don't get stuck as much off road - reomved the old tow bar at the weekend, however, it involved a lot of grinding (right next to the diesel tank
) to get it off - and despite plenty of pre-soaking and attempting to turn the bolts, the heads snapped off and i'm left with two studs in the chassis.
I tried the heating with a blow torch and hitting with a punch option, but, that hasn't got me anywere yet.
Any clever or cunning ideas for getting them out other than a very long and boring drill out job?
I can't get the bumper bolts off either (why don't people use copper grease more?) and can't easily get to those bolts with the grinder, so, that's the next challenge.
