Which advice exactly?
Hi Anaconda,

It's when he's took the top of the TD5

- Wiring harness into the injectors
- Change rubber gasket

I've also heard that if you have the top off to also change plastic dowels to metal ones - would this be correct?

Also is there a PDF available for like a workshop part list? (and the winning lottery numbers for this evening!)

In additional is there a guide for nm when tightening up bolts on the engine and any particular order, so not to over tighten etc.

Sorry another question too - whats a good sprocket set for this kind of work?

Thanks again everyone for your advice and helpful input. :)

The dowel issue is when you remove the cylinder head (he only removed the rocker cover) and Is also a subject of debate as to if to change so be cautious.

You need to search for a Land Rover manual online loads of free 1s out there for download which give details of torque for bolts and how to.
As for a socket set, for starters Halfords do great alround sets to get you going, You will need more depending on how much you are willing to attempt ;) There are a few 1 of odd tools that you will collect on you ownership journey.
Start with a big garage that you can get it in with plenty of space for tools and lock it to keep the OH out:D:oops:.

Check the ECU under the drivers seat for any oil in the loom. If the big red wireloom connector is covered in oil then you need to change the injector loom, otherwise don't bother. Oil was dripping out of my ecu wire connector when I bought it. I forgot to check when I went to look to buy it, I was too excited..
Seriously though if I was you just check all fluid levels, look for leaks, jack up each wheel to make sure it's not falling off and drive it.
Halfords pro socket set is a good shout, as mentioned by others, get the big one when it's on offer.
