ps dont matter how much it cost, but new body ain't a option!

thanx mate:D
will i be able to spray body colour over that? will hammerite sand down smooth? or do i jis say fook it doors are shut you cant see it;)
or does the hammerite fook that idea up:confused:
only want to do it once though

use hammerite smooth. they do it about 20 different colours now. If it's the wheel arch inside the door paint it satin black and stop the paint line whare it becomes visible then switch back to your normal colour.

use a phosphate primer. I use it o all steel welds on construction grade steel.better than underseal too!!!!

just remember, if you are grinding the rust back and treating it on only one side of the steel then it will keep spreading on the other side. eventually it will eat away at your seatbelt mountings. the only true way to get rid of rust is to cut it out and replace with fresh metal

yeah thanx lads:D
an cheers yella got ya point mate;)
an as i said i only want to do it once so it will mean a full strip down of anything that gets in the way.
don't won't no rust on my baby do i:eek:

I have got some bubbling in the wheel arches where you open the back doors. Funny thing is it was spotless a year ago so someone did a great job of hiding it and spraying the right colour etc. Can you get at the underneath of the arches then? underseal a good idea after rustproofing? We have some stuff at work called Devcon and its a 2 pack very hard wearing mixture for fixing holes in pipes etc. I might try some of that.
