i know what you mean mate my fl needs about £700 worth of parts to get her sweet again
Write the list then!
Well..... I've changed the front calipers disks and pads and the brake servo because for sum reason the brakes were sticking and my garage advised me to do the lot, then the timing belt needed changing. Then I had to do the head gasket, water pump and thermostat. The whole exhaust needs replacing as there's holes everywhere! There's a few bits of rust coming through on the body which I've just noticed. And the brakes are still sticking and the engines still over heating! Apart from that its brilliant!!! LOL
mls gasket wiv metal dowels?
new headbolts?
new timing belt tensioner?
did you flush the coolant and oil?
have you bled the cooling system properly?
the brakes do stick occasionally, this is normal
I've just spent £623 on a fueling problem now it wants a new thermostat fitted.
But I love it and it's only money.
Omg what am I single shoot me
am the same mate i cant put my finger on it what i like about the fl but i love driving it![]()
Mls gasket, yes good
Metal dowels, I'll check, the ones in the head to stop it moving around, should've come with the head kit
New head bolts, yes good
New tensioner, I'll check it's false economy not too!
Coolant and oil, yes good
Bled the system, when I start it I can here water slushing about so I'm gonna ask them about that.really not a good sign
Brakes yea every now and again when I use them a lot and then I have to stop and wait for them to cool down for 10 mins then I'm good again
Bled the system, when I start it I can here water slushing about so I'm gonna ask them about that.
yet to take mines off road yet mate propshaft came off the day i got it because the vcu had had it but looking forward to taking it off roadYea and me the best bit is embarrassing other 4x4s off road lol
I'd put money on the cooling system bleed being the cause of your overheating issue, there are two bled screws in the system.
one on the heater hose, easy to spot and one under the dizzy cap in the metal conduit, not so easy to spot.
Another good tip is to knock out the ball bearing in the jiggle valve on the inlet manifold, but this can only be done with the manifold off.
Who is "them?" A garage? Is there anything you could learn to do yourself to save some dosh?
Don't leave us matey!
The garage told me its a self bleeding system? Is this true at all? Thanks for the advise by the way![]()
