No mate that is very far from the truth as you can get
they are not hard to bleed but it has to be done thoroughly.

yep just stick at it until your sure all the air is out.
i open both bleed screws then remove expansion tank cap. Seal my mouth on the tank and blow till coolant flows from bleed screws then seal tighten them, you might need an assistant to do this, whilst coolant is still flowing from them.
top up then go for a longish drive, then check and top up if necessary
WARNING: Don't do the above with hot coolant
I'll try it tomorrow in work! I'm exited to see if this solves the problem lol I'm thinking of going out to do I now lol and then take it back to the garage to say ha I've fixed it myself! With the help of you guys![]()
Forgot to say you may need to do this a few times to make sure it's completely purged.
Again allow it to cool or you'll burn yer gob
Oh and do it with the heater control set to HOT!!! or it will ignore the heater matrix and you could still have air in there![]()
Freelaner to the rescue once again. He's absolutely right and it will make a big difference.
If you can hear the cooling system inside the cabin at all then its not bled properly or worse boiling over!
Thing is it sounds like you're almost there with it's mid-life service crisis. There's not much more to do after that other than general servicing and repairs. But Head and VCU are the heavy hitters - and IRD is the heaviest!
Whereabouts are ewe in Sarf Wales? I'm originally from abergavenny and if you're near abouts look up Abergavenny Land Rover Club.
Hurrah another happy customer! That jiggle valve often catches people out!
