Just got a 900 w mini grinder from Tesco for £18 .99 ! It takes 125mm wheels or 115mm and comes with two grinder wheels 1 stone and 1 metal. Only down side is no lock on switch so have to keep trigger pressed when working. In a way its safer ,if the grinder jumps out of yer hand it dosent run off down yer arm.:clap2::D Get some of the 1mm cutting discs for metal. They are mustard for steel sheet.

Used one to cut two grooves in paving slab but it burnt out not enough power for that type of thing, got my money back and went to B&Q and purchased a propper one though it cost twice as much but has twice the power, I wanted a tool that will cut every thing any time not just in auto workshop..... which maybe the Tesco would be OK for. :)

You sure you didn,t try cutting with a grinder disc ? I have used mini diamond wheels only £2.99 for two at local paki shop. Ive not had any probs

Tried a cheepy 'diamond' disc it just scratched the concrete, I had to use two carborundum style for cutting disc for stone around £8 each from Wicks.
It was a one off job.... i'm sure your Tesco item will be ok for cutting grooves in normal patio slabs if ever required. :)

Ps the instructions do say 'dont let it overheat' :D

OK take the **** but the proofs in the puddin as they say. Ive never had a problem with grinders burning out apart from one I bought from Netto for a tenner. I used it all day on a heavy duty grinding out mortar job . It was running none stop all day , eventually it packed up. I took it back and got my tenner back :D A little tip with diamond discs is if they stop cutting and sparks start coming off the disc, get some natural gritstone/ sand stone [not concrete] and cut several grooves in it. Your disc will now be cutting like new :)

Todays Top Tip :) Sill got the diamond disc although a bit blue now and a few broken sand stone slabs so i'll give it a go.
