yep mud and water has knackerd my alternator and robbed me of a days worth of greenlaning today.
Are there any tips of the trade other than not driving thru it in the first place
Why don't you give it a go at cleaning it? It could just be dirty brushes or summit.
I've not had any alternator problems when offroading (YET) Are you playing in really deep gloopy mud?
Ive spent an age with the jet wash then threw 2 tins of wd40 at it, no joy.
It ran for 3 hrs after the mud and gave up on the way home, the mud was a little thick![]()
ive bought a brand new alternator off flea bay for £45, im just hoping its the right one
Ill strip the old one down and use it for a spare if i can get it working
