Hi all , I’ve got a 2006 mk1 freelander and I think the 2 springs might be worn out in the tailgate handle. I’ve seen them on eBay for £7.50 . I just wondered do I have to take the inside panel off or can I get to them from from the outside of the handle?

Take the back panel off.

Quite often you don't have to tug that hard and the handle will just separate from the remains of the rusty bits its bolted to

Just unscrew the handle from the door, so you can access the underside, then fit the springs from the kit.
