Gents, about 3 months ago I replaced all springs, shocks, and bushes, including A frame, on my 89 RRC.I used standard springs, Bilstien shocks and Super Pro poly bushes. Initially all fine then after about a month I could hear a creaking from under the car when articulating the suspension ie going over the curb or a rut. I tightened the bushes as some seemed to have settled into place. The creaking then became what I can only describe clonk as if something was moving and the resettling back into place. I have rechecked bush and shock nuts all seem ok and springs seem settled in place. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Cheers Nick

Anti roll bar links?

Was the car sat on its wheels when you tightened the bolts up? IE not on axel stands or jacks but as you would drive it. I made this mistake and ripped out a set of bushes due to over stressing them by not having them set correctly.

Also never having heard of the them brand how good are they. I used Deflex which are cheap (£50 a set) and turned out to be ****e.

Vehicle on wheels when bushes tightened but will slacken everything off, bounce, then retighten. A frame ball joint replaced at the same time.
Fitted Super Pro after much research and many positive comments so think they are reasonable quality. My only thought is are the radius arm to chassis bushes too stiff and not giving enough, causing arms to clonk in mounting holes? Please keep the suggestions coming as only a novice at this. Cheers Nick

Are your springs dislocating?

try spraying some PTFE grease/spray onto the bushes too, helps them if they need to move around a bit and will cure creaking too

Hopefully springs aren't dislocating as does no extreme work. One thing I have noticed is that the noise gets worse on wet roads. Any ideas? Cheers Nick
