Hi,
been thinking about steering guards this week, anyone got any thought,s on them. I havnt seen many series landy,s with them on and what i did see i thought looked a bit pants but our greenlanning is getting more and more "challenging" and i dont fancy ****ing my steering arms.
cheers
Dave

Better off getter heavy duty steering rods than steering guard, all they do is reduce clearance and act as a plough.
I've never had an issue with steering rods off road, they're well tucked away.
More of an issue on Defenders.

Thought about that but worried about just moving the weakest link further up the chain, has anyone ever damaged there steering components on a series ? Thanx for the reply,
cheers
Dave

got the diff stuck on tree stumps once or twice but never had a problem with steering rods....touch wood.......er.....or not

I have broken my drop arm track rod end due to a woren ballbjoint and that series got driven hard as a pay and play toy so dont woray about the steering parts just take ball joints with

I fitted one to mine and it's been well used! I've never got stuck from it grounding out but I fitted it so it's level with the springs. I think if it wasn't fitted I would have bent the steering rods but I do some pretty serious offroading so it's worth it's weight in gold.
