Hi.
I have a series 2 fitted with a v8 from a p6. The current down pipes are quite low to the ground. will range rover down pipes fit and clear enough to fit an exhaust or any suggestions plz.

There are different arrangements in terms of how many pipes they split into and so on. Post in v8 section they will know there. You need a custom exhaust whatever happens.

classic yes, p38 no, sd1 twin exit maybe......depends on how well your v8 was fitted

Range rover EFI twin pipes hang very very low. Ear;y carb model have single outlet per manifold will need to be a cut and shut job to fit right

P38 will fit but have to go forwards, I've just had to modify and fit them to my S1......not the neatest job so gonna re do it again when I get hold of a new manifold to modify

Will take a pic tomorrow if I remember

I think I may have the odd P38 manifold knocking about, I'm sure I spotted one in my shed last time I was looking for something.

I've actually just realised its the drivers side that gets modified to fit the passenger side :doh: but either would be good, can always swap the flange round

I have been looking for the P38 manifolds and can't find them, Turns out a mate has had them for his comp motor, sorry.

no worries, I'm taking them off the S1 anyway........they put out too much heat for the engine bay and cooling system to handle going over to 3.9 EFI manifolds as a compromise between strangling P6 and high flow P38

Will the twin down pipes clear the NS chassis rail? Usually they are super tight to the chassis rail why everyone uses single pipes or headman headers

As it happens yes they do! I've just fitted them with one issue....I moved the engine 7mm up and over to fit the P38 pipe to the drivers side, this means the new efi one is a little closer to the chassis rail than I'd like so I'm just going to move it back to dead centre after my late lunch

But other than that it's perfect

Will take some pics once I finish installing it

I know my v8 is very high in the chassis compared to most conversions enough to clear chassis rail but the engine is so high it needs wee little bumps I the bonnet for the dampers in the cans to fit without fouling.
