The Back Axle on my P38 seems to be seeping oil on both side. It drips into the wheel where the 6 bolts are. Can i take off the Caliper and undo the 6 bolts & pull the Half Shaft out or is it more complex than that.

Yes you can take off the caliper and undo the 6 bolts, don't forget to pull out the abs sensor. Where the hub joins the axle there is an oil seal in there, that is what will be leaking. Do not undo the big nut in the end of the hub, it is tightened to something like 260nM and if you disturb it, it disturbs the pressure on the bearing. Also do not riddle the hub and the half shaft a lot, try and give it a nice clean pull out of the axle. Do one side at a time otherwise it makes it difficult to realign the splines on the half shaft with the diff.
Good luck :)

Thanks that helps alot, can you tell me will i need to get the Oil Seal fron Lanr Rover or can i get it from any where IE Cafco

:D

You are best getting a genuine LR part, it will probably last longer. Smear some grease around them before you slide the half shaft through.
