Hi from Canada!


I wanted to start this post by thanking everyone for the numerous problems and solutions posts. Saved me a lot of time. (I had the read knocking noise, fixed by changing the rear differential mount, and noise on the front on one side, fixed by changing the sway bars (I think some call them drop links)


I always beleive in being over prepared before preparing a job. I watched some youtube videos to get an idea if the freelander disk brakes has anything special and noticed rotor screws.



I look in microcat, and found this information:

SF106121
M6 x 12mm


First it appears this screw is sloted but looking at the video, the one shown is Phillips head.

Finding this screw without costing me an arm and leg got me thinking about the fact that some Honda and Acura have the same sort of screw for their rotors.


The Honda/ accura version is Phillips head. Both appear to be contersunk heads (flat heads).


Honda part 93600-060140H
M6 x 14mm

The honda part is 2mm longer. Will it be a problem, to use a longer screw?

Is that the screw holding the rotor to the hub? if it is you don't need it, it was there for when it was going down the assembly line, to the next station so it wouldn't fall off

Thanks for the reply. Yes the screw holding the rotor to the hub. Any ideas why there would be a replacement part if it is not needed ?

as thor said they arent needed wheel studs and wheel hold disc

I know they are not needed but I always replace them but they are very expensive now from LR and you need the right thread
