when the fuel tank is about quarter full my rear pump starts clicking. when i put more diesel in it stops.dose this mean the pump is suspect. thanks

would say something is amiss, may go on for ages, may fail tomorrow, hard to say.

might be worth buying a fuel pump and filter and keeping safe ready for the fateful day.

I'd go genuine, heard some bad reports about aftermarket on here.

How many miles has your car done?

TBH if you suspect the pump to be faulty change it and the filter. Not a difficult job.

it could be the fuel burning heater pump.mines makes a clicking noise when the heater is working
