Not that hard to get apart, but can't say on rebuilding because I'm waiting for my shortened input shaft to come back.
You'll need a long legged gear puller/splitter and a bit of judicious use of anything that comes in handy. And a good quality torx T25 for the oil pump screws, my halfords 'pro' set just twisted and broke, so bought a Fein set.
I bought this set, no good for a pro, but if you use it carefully it's fine. Not quite long enough, but I found a work around which I now can't remember, I'm sure you'll come up with something. At that price you could buy two and then you'd have plenty of the extension bars. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/131660446044
