Hi all,

I've got a Freelander 1 TD4 2004, the propshaft bearings were replaced with genuine LR ones in February of this year and it now appears that the front one is growling and on it's way out.
My question is are the bearings identical when you look at them? mine are certainly different! Found that out tonight on inspection!! :crazy:
Is there a particular way these bearings go on ie Either way :crazy:

Front one normally fails first as it gets hit with water/muck more than the rear. Both should be the same. They often fail early if they're cheap bearings (LR only sell good ones) or pushed on in such a way that causes damage, which means premature wear.

I have put cheap ebay ones on before and they haven't lasted a week

I learnt the hard way

Last ones I used were 'all makes' lasted about 1.5 years but the rubber bits are about the correct level of rubber unlike some which are much to hard or soft. To be honest they haven't failed badly just changing as slightly noisy and have prop off anyway
