What colour should it be? I was doing my weekly check around the car and the reservoir is on the MIN mark. Looking at the fluid, it's a brown colour; I am more used to seeing it in a shade of cherry red!

Should I renew the fluid or not! It's an 05 1.8 with 73k on the clock!

It's the normal colour of fluid that ages, from red or yellow to brown, and over time, even black. If you want peace of mind, change it
