Hello All,
I recently acquired a 2002 P38 and have lost all the keys to the vehicle. Is the only way to get new keys made to replace all the modules in the vehicle? That's all the feedback I'm getting from shops at this point.

Thanks in Advance,
Adam

Probably because you have said " I have aquired a P38 with no keys".

Take the registration docs and your ID to a LR dealer and they will get you some new key/s
As you have "lost " them you could order a new 1 & 2 key.

LR dealers in the states won't touch anything older than 2011 at this time. So they sent me to the aftermarket shops, without a transponder to essentially copy they have no way of making a new fob....so I'm being told.

Buy yourself a Nanocom diagnostic tool, use it to turn off the EKA and Immobiliser functions in the BECM, you then only need a key blade. As you have no keys sourcing a blade will still be a problem but may be less of a problem than sourcing FOB's, it may be possible to get lock set information direct from JLR via the internet.

Avoid trying to order from an LR Dealer. Somebody posted a while back that UK dealers will take your money, and then inform the keys are on back order.

Instead ask the dealer for the "Lockset Bar Code" based on your documents & VIN. It's a 14 digit code used by the BECM & FOB's for the security.

Then contact Les Edwards at Classic Rides North Wales. He can supply working FOB & Keys based on the Lockset codes. Apparently he does both 433Mhz for UK, etc. and 315Mhz for the US market. I'm sure he said the Lockset code can also be decoded for the key blade pattern.
