Hi my 2000 p38 4.6 has started overheating.Does anyone no were to start or what parts to replace first or is it as well to get engine refurb.she has done 133,000.

how hard is your top hose getting? befor you start looking at a new engine dont you think it would be good to do some cheecks first?? just a thought..

As I think most on here will say, start with the cheapest options first - pipe leaks, rad leak, water pump leakn etc before thinking about the engine.

Under what conditions does, the car overheat, is there coolant loss, is there any trace of water in the oil.

My own car suddenly started overheating badly, 1ltr a day coolant loss - turned out to be water pump - £35 + 3hrs time.
