ok..rangie classic eas system..

it wont drop into low when over 50mph,everything else is fine..why?????

now as far as i can see,it needs only to see that... handbrake is off(manual)
it is,and it knows as wont drop to access if handbrake off, will if on.

engine is running..it sees that as flashes switch lights in bulb test as soon as you start engine and will run compressor if needed..

inhibit switch and disable switch in "run" postion, they are..it will go to high if i ask it.

and importantly must see a speed signal from the speedo buffer relay.(on the yellow/pink wire)no becm here,rr classic..well it does,to prove i put in high, then drove off,at exactly 35mph it drops back to standard height, thus proving it seeing speed signsl...

so what the feck is stopping it dropping to low at over 50mph for 30 secs???

no faults being pulled by unlock suit software, software drops car to low if asked, heights are changed from standard landrover standard, but if it was outside limits then i gather it would just go to factory settings, which it dont...

help!!(thanks)

The Speed Buffer Wire is Yellow/Pink which goes to Pin 30 )White/Pink) on the EAS ECU correct??

The only thing I can think off is the Voltage Pulse from the Speed Buffer is incorrect...

As Speed increases so does the pulse frequency....

Have you tried putting the speed buffer output onto an osciliscope to check the frequency change....??

The speed signal goes from Battery Voltage to 0 6 times per wheel revolution....so if you know the Circumfrence of the Tyre...you can work out how far 6 revolutions are, then work out how many revolutions are needed for a set speed, then work out what the Pulse frequency should be and check the speed on a scope/fluke meter....

Whilst the speed buffer may be correct at around 35mph...it could be off getting closer to 50mph....without checking the pulse frequency first you could be chasing your tail....

bit tricky to read scope while driving though..

also speedo spot on at 50,uses same signal..

not yet,nowhere over 50 near me..may take a run up the m11 tomorrow after work..worth a try..

Definitely - mine needs to be over 55mph on the clock for at least 30 seconds, if not a bit more! I'd try a motorway run at 60mph for a couple of minutes, think that might cure it.

My beloved P38 drops at above 55 too, I have tried 52 or 53 expecting it to drop but nada....give it that little bit more to 55+ and 30secs later , she starts to lower....

up to "er her er her" mph on motorway..it dont drop to low...

cant see it being speed sensor/buffer relay as drops from high to standard at 35 as per book etc, speedo is spot on and driven from same speed sensor/buffer relay..but..

as stated everything else good...any ideas?want it right!

I take it the inhibit switch under the drivers seat is not switched as you can still adjust the height manually and it lowers from offroad mode at 35mph - you haven't caught the switch or something since testing that have you?

If it lowers from offroad mode the speed transducer should be working fine, so that is odd.

The only thing I can suggest is replacing the speed sensor to see if it is faulty?

Try a different ECU too....maybe yours doesn't know it should lower above 50!!

cant be speed sensor as it driving buffer and speedo perfectly...ecu..yes had thought of that, but dont have one..pooh.

have now tried everything..ie 2 different ecu's...

time to try us sites...let you know result..

yes its ment to drop..and ecu seeing speed as stated(as drops from high to standard at 35)

well it looks like no one in the us knows too...have tried everything now..re re checked wiring etc..
