hi everyone new frelander td4 owner here.new to land rover as previously had pajero,s and l200/shogun sports but couldn't cope with the fuel costs any longer and a td4 FL seemed the most economicle out of the trucks in my price range.and I must admit im quite enjoying it
I removed the prop and vcu as soon as I got it home as it had odd brand tyres on front to rear and the guy I got it off said he,d run the fronts down to the limit before putting a pair of cheapo,s on
. the vcu actualy looks a lot newer than the prop and bearings (still unmarked satin black paint and no rust) but its an unknown quantity so will be replaced with a recon and 4 new tyres for peace of mind before winter.the only problem I have is the po said he,d just had a new "heavy duty" clutch and master cyl fitted but the pedal is biting just off the floor and sometimes I have to push the pedal hard to the floor to change gear.could this just be air in the system because as your driving some changes are fine with the pedal feeling slightly better
.sorry for such a long winded first post.oh and whats the noise from the front bumper area when I switch off sounds like an aeroplane waiting on the runway before you take off(a fan of some description) and theres hot gasses coming out of a tube under the n/s front bumper while its happening
