just to annoy some greeny types a year or so ago I did some research (didnt take long) and the V8 discovery put out less CO2/km than the basic porshe boxterthat shut em up
my fender does the same "damage" than the Kia I had before it, on a cradle to grave basis much much less, I cant see my old kia being around at 17 years old
I could drive my disco 15k miles a year for 6 years and produce the same eco damaged as it does to produce the batterys for the prius. Just the production, iirc its likr 18, 500 something for the batterys sat in the car waiting for you to collect. Ignoring the rest of the car as that evens the making of the landy. Then those batterys need changing every 5 years. Then there is the disposal.
Above figures are for the 3.9 v8 as new, age will make it less fuel efficient and all the rest of the blah blah blah but taking all that into account and the fact I don't do 15k+ a year my land rover is more eco friendly than a prius.
