We are lucky Tony, we live in the middle of nowhere, plus our region has the lowest incidence in France of Covid-19 infections. Things are pretty tough where you are I imagine. small update.
got a chance to spend and hour at the car this morning
I removed the tuning box and reconnected the MAF and brought the car for a spin,it was down in power,I disconnected the MAF and car ran fine,not as good as with the tuning box but not dangerously slow.
I had the nanocom plugged in to check the boost pressure and while i was doing that i noticed the air tempature was -38, I presume this is not normal?

IAT is either under front of inlet manifold or if you have EGR it’s a set value in the edc

As the car has a MAF, that figure is normal, it's for the IAT sensor which isnot present on your car.
Sounds like the MAF may be defective, they are pretty reliable so an inexpensive one from a breaker may be worth a try.
Nanocom should show that the MAF is not present but with no fault code.

The OP's car has a MAF, so it will have a plastic manifold.
Is there any harm in just leaving the MAF disconnected?

Not a good idea, it will fail the MOT for a start.
Im in ireland so no MOT,it's registered as commercial so CVRT would be the equivalent which isn't overly strict
have no problem changing it if it's needed. was just wondering would it cause any damage to leave it disconnected
The oméga version had an egr with an aluminum manifold. I've got that setup on my spare engine...

My Transit has EGR but no MAF, the MAF is not essential for EGR.

I doubt it will do any harm, not something I would do though. Surprised there is no MOT how do the EU allow that I wonder?
there is tests,I think that the NCT ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Car_Test )would be be the test that is equivalent to the MOT and CVRT is for commercial vehicles

I’d replace the MAF is it’s faulty if you are keeping it
I'll pick up a used one and put it in
the car is pretty gutless since i removed the tuning box what would ye recommend i replace it with?

Nothing unless you are prepared for it to eat the gearbox. Otherwise a proper re-map.

If you sort out the maintenance it will shift okay.
was doing a bit of googling regarding remap and couldn't find anywhere near me doing it,wonder could i send ECU off to be remapped or even buy an ecu that is remapped all ready?
