Hi All,

I have just bought a 2005 Vogue v6 D and it has very little power when i am reversing. I am very worried it could be the gear box? can anyone give me some idea's or let me know if you have come across this before? I had the oli checked in the gearbox and that was all ok and at the right level.

Thanks in advance

No slipping at all. the car will reverse on a flat road but when i tried to reverse up a slope it just didn't have the power to get up and its not that steap either.

How steeps your drive?

It reves up fine but doesn't have any power in it. You can put your foot down and it just doesn't really move once on a slope. The drive is not that steap and should not have a problem at all.

Your not answering the question.

If your in reverse at the bottom of your drive, and you put your foot down, what happens???

Does the engine die......no power

Do the engine revs increase but the car not move............slipping box

then your gearbox has worn clutch pack usually due to low pressure from worn pump /housing,drop a cap full of oil out gearbox see if its blackish

yes the oil in the gear box was black, we had it checked today.

Does the engine have power and does it rev: Yes and it will rev the engine as you would expect. It rev's all the way round but it feels like its in netural almost.

There is no slipping at all.

When the car hits the sloap of the drive the car stops moving and can't get up it. imagin a 0.5 litre engine trying to push a 10 tone bus (revs but can;t push the car) i am totally lost
