Not if you drive most the night fer a livinFair point!
I am mostly interested in the lower power consumption to give half a chance of it starting on "stop / start" lamping nights.
Not so much the brightness but the colour. Thanks for the replies Gents. General feeling that I'm getting is that they are too bright! I am mostly interested in the lower power consumption to give half a chance of it starting on "stop / start" lamping nights.
What are my choices with the alternator?Second battery and/or higher output alternator?
Just had a quick look and the alternator off a Sherpa van is an option?? Not sure what the output is though.Standard is about 35amp I think. I got a 75amp off L Bowers via ebay for £60 and it works very well.

They do go much higher ampage wise but unless your running winches and the like you probably wont need them.
That will add umph but both will run everything so both will drain equally on continued starting or continued lighting ect.I quite like the idea of running 2 batteries. Do I just put the other one under the seat and run 2 suitably sized conductors between the 2 batteries?
