Ordered a pair of propshaft/VCU support bearings which arrived today.

They are genuine LR parts and when I looked at them, the bearings are marked "NRB India".
I wondered how long it would be before ("Alternative local") suppliers would be used after the TATA buyout of LR.

I have a pair of SKF bearings sitting on the shelf and was in two minds to press the originals out and fit them !!!

I will definately monitor them, that's for sure !!
If they do fail and the rubber bush is still okay I will simply swap them for the SKF's.
Mind you, the space between the bearings and the dished steel flingers was well packed with EP2 grease (As per RAVE), but so was the old mounts that I took off, one bearing failed after 16 months and the grease had no water contamination.

If the rubber mounts are still good, I tend to press in new FAG bearings these days.
It's not good that what used to be a guaranteed quality replacement bearing, may not be so good now :(

So if the GKN supports are now fitted with NRB bearings @£90 is it better to buy cheaper replacement one's and fit better bearings in those ?
Any one know what bearings are fitted in the bearmach supports as there £35 and local to me ?
